Thoughts on Field Trip....

I enjoyed seeing the different projects that Chancy had showed us. I enjoyed going to that room with the 3D wall the most though. I have been in the 3D room before from a previous class, but that was first time seeing that wall close in. I liked how closing the 3D wall in really allows the viewer to seem like they are there. Some of those plants and other items that were on the screen almost looked real with the 3D glasses on. I had also learned that students may be able to use that room for capstone/project and I didn't know that at first...

Does it add up???/Class...

For this assignment, I wanted to show a picture of one of my own original characters that I designed.  I couldn't upload all the steps into completing the drawing but here is the two steps. I first drew the picture by hand then scanned it in and then started adding detail using photoshop. Before drawing this pic, I was inspired by playing this game called "kingdom Hearts" and the art style had got me into the mood to draw this pic. The pencil drawing is the concept, and the photoshop picture is the product.

I really enjoyed class on Feb. 7. During class discussion, we had talked about the assignment that will be due for the next class. I had thought that I knew a lot about "Inspiration, Idea, Concept, Trial, Refine, and Product, but after being in class it helped me actually think about the whole ideas of doing some things differently when it comes to certain ideas or projects.

"old School" "loohcs dlo" breaking the rules...

A rule that I decided to break this week that I knew was safe and legal was to take a picture of myself with my Sonic the Hedgehog shirt and flip it to make the words be spelled backwards. I see this as breaking a rule because the words on the shirt are suppose to spell out "old school", but now it spells "loohcs dlo". I also drew attention toward the words by pointing to them. And I think the first thing people will do when viewing this pic is try to make out what the words say. The only consequence that I see coming from this is that people that are hardcore Sonic fans may be mad and see it as disrespectful because the words are backwards, but who ever said that the words have to be right...

Class Last Week...

I thought last weeks class was great, I really enjoyed seeing the different projects that students had did for that last assignment. I think I liked the one with the door and green light going around it the most though. I thought it was photoshopped at first, but when finding out that it was all done manually. It made me start to think differently on how projects could also be done with the talents of students with out the use of certain software to get a visual effect...
